KID ROCKET

A SPACE OPERA FOR A NEW GENERATION

What if Douglas Adams sense of humor were unleashed on a graphic novel that marries the fantastical worlds of Star Wars with the whimsical charm of Harry Potter?

THE TOUGHEST SCHOOL IN THE UNIVERSE

“Ah, the first day of school - the perfect opportunity to feel completely out of place, especially when you happen to be human, one of the most disliked species in the universe. And of course, where else would I end up but in a school filled with aliens who aren’t too fond of my kind? But hey, at least it’s a school floating through space - that’s pretty nifty, right?

But wait, there’s more! Not only am I the only human here, but I’m also the son of the most hated member of the most hated species in the universe. I’ve always been used to not fitting in, so this is nothing new for me. To make matters worse, Earth is in serious trouble because of my dad - the entire planet is on trial, and the verdict isn’t looking good.

Lucky for me, no one knows who I really am - I lied my way into this school with the help of my alien friend who now works here. Now, all I have to do is clear my dad’s name and save the planet. Oh, and did I mention that all of this is happening while I’m still 12 years old? Yeah, no big deal.

It’s a wild story that’s been brewing for almost 50 billion years, and it’s all coming down to the next few days. The fate of the entire universe could be at stake, and I’m just a kid trying to make it through my first day of school. But hey, my name is Kid Rocket, and I’m up for the challenge. Well, I hope I am anyway.”

TIME AND SPACE AND OTEHR ANNOYING RULES IN THE UNIVERSE

Let’s not start at the beginning. The beginning is far too complicated and happened far too long ago. If we started there, we’d be reading for years. Instead, let’s skip ahead to the good bits.

The universe has been around for a while. A really, really, really long while. It’s seen a few things in its time. For instance, it’s seen four big bangs spanning hundreds of billions of years. That’s a lot of explosions.

We could go back even further, but honestly, it’s a bit of a headache. Trying to explain something that’s beyond human comprehension is like trying to explain a color you’ve never seen before. It’s tough. Even understanding our own timeline, which is within a single reality among an infinity of realities, is like trying to listen to a piece of music by only hearing one note.

So, let’s just say that we don’t really know anything. But that doesn’t stop us from wondering. And wondering leads to questions. And questions lead to the most incredible words ever said: what if?

What if there was a race as old as time itself? A race that has existed since the dust settled from the very first big bang? A race that wasn’t immortal, but just observed time in a very different way? A race that explored the universe, observed its mysteries, and watched life eme rge and evolve into civilizations that eventually faded back into the dust from which they rose?

Let’s call them the Infinity Monks. Or the Celestial Scribes. Or the Infinity Tribe. Or the Wanderers. Or the Scribes of Infinity. Or the Keepers. Whatever you like, really.

They watched stars being born and dying. They watched civilizations rise and fall. They watched the universe unfold before them like a parade. And they cataloged it all. They amassed billions of years of knowledge and created a library that was the size of a solar system.

And what did they do with all that knowledge? Well, they used it to harness the power of their star, of course. They slowed it down and used that power to create a computer that spanned the entire universe.

So, that’s the story. Or at least, that’s the beginning of the story. Who knows where it will go from here? But isn’t that the fun of it all? Wondering and questioning and imagining what if?

MAIN CHARACTER

Kid Rocket

A curious and intelligent boy, possesses an insatiable thirst for adventure and a sharp problem-solving acumen, complemented by keen observational skills. Though physically small and wiry, he is exceedingly athletic and well-trained in self-defense. Yet, his sometimes hot-headed nature and penchant for fighting tend to land him in trouble. Despite his rebellious streak and juvenile delinquent tendencies, Kid Rocket is remarkably creative and resourceful, with a rare talent for abstract thinking that few in the universe can match.

Having built everything from scratch, Kid Rocket is a boy genius, with hundreds of patents to his name. He yearns to leave Earth and explore the cosmos, as his insatiable curiosity outweighs his fears. Unbeknownst to him, however, he holds the key to the Compendium’s darkest secrets, the living embodiment of the cosmic struggle between good and evil. His mind is a battlefield, where the light and dark forces of the universe wage war, and his very existence could spell the end of this reality. He is the only one who knows how to find the Compendium, a source of fear for many in the universe, who regard humans as carriers of the darkness that threatens all that exists.

INTERGALACTIC SCHOOL FOR EXPLORERS
AND ADVENTURERS

The city was a marvel of engineering, a feat of technology that had endured for millions of years. Its towering spires rose high into the sky, piercing the darkness of space and serving as a beacon of knowledge and wisdom for countless generations of explorers and adventurers.

At the heart of the city was the Intergalactic School, a place of learning and discovery where the most promising minds from across the galaxy came to hone their skills and uncover the secrets of the universe. From the towering amphitheaters where lectures were given to the sprawling laboratories where experiments were conducted, every inch of the school was designed to inspire and empower its students.

Surrounding the school were the bustling streets of the city, teaming with life and energy. Here, alien life forms of every conceivable shape and size went about their daily business, from the chittering insectoids of the Gax to the graceful avians of the Vrin. All were united in their pursuit of knowledge and discovery, bound together by a shared sense of purpose and wonder.

As the city drifted through the vast expanse of space, it served as a reminder of the boundless potential of the universe, a beacon of hope and aspiration for all those who looked upon it. For millions of years it had endured, a testament to the enduring power of knowledge and the limitless capacity of the human spirit.

FEDERATION OF FIVE GALAXIES

In the grand scheme of things, the Federation of Five Galaxies has managed to function quite well for billions of years. Of course, when you have trillions upon trillions of beings coexisting in one area of the Universe, “peaceful” is a relative term.

Each galaxy manages its own affairs, but they also rely heavily on trade and resources from one another. The Crown, for instance, is where the upper crust likes to reside. They tend to care more about their wealth and self-importance than anything else, but they’ve amassed most of their fortune selling goods and services to other galaxies, particularly those in the Primary Galactic Cluster where a diverse array of species and beings coexist.

The Sisters, on the other hand, is a dual galaxy formation that falls mostly under the rule of the Celestial Church. Now, don’t get me wrong, the Celestial Church has its upsides. Some of their sects can be downright accepting and peaceful. But others can be, shall we say, a tad radical.

The Penelope Cluster, meanwhile, is a treasure trove of natural beauty and rare resources. It’s no wonder everyone wants a piece of it.

Lastly, there’s the Edge Cluster. A tiny, insignificant galaxy that exists on the fringes of what anyone would call developed space. Beyond it lies uncharted territory, but everyone’s content to let it be. Everyone except the school, that is. They thrive on exploring the cosmos and discovering new worlds, even if it means venturing beyond the familiar.
